Founder’s Story

My name is Linda Paulsrud, and I’ve lived in Lee’s Summit, MO for over 20 years. I have two daughters, Sarah (14 years old) and Krista (11 years old).

Several years ago, I was visiting my brother in Denver, CO. His wife had her own home-based business. Knowing that I had a degree in accounting, they asked me to take a look at how they were handling their bookkeeping processes. They were using QuickBooks accounting software. I was able to help them out, so they encouraged me to start my own business and provide these services to small businesses in the Kansas City area.

I investigated what it would take to start my own business, met a coach who guided me for several months and before long, I had actually found a client. I worked with this business doing some basic bookkeeping while I continued to work my job in corporate America and soon had a second business sign on! About the time I had found a third client, I was beginning to feel it was too much. Then an opportunity to take a lay-off presented itself.

Today, I have quite a few more than three clients! My business has grown, and I continue to enjoy getting to know each business owner I am working with as we identify their unique business needs. I have found the part of my business I enjoy the most is working with business owners to ensure they have QuickBooks set-up properly for their business as well as the processes they use in day-to-day operations.
